Downfalls of Traditional CCTV

CCTV is traditionally used to monitor and record video footage of occupants’ activity for security and liability reasons.  Unfortunately, if the operator missed the activity on one or more screens, an incident may go unnoticed until it is reported, possibly some time later when the video data has been overwritten.  Video footage that is available is often too low quality due to storage limitations.

Advantages to Durell's CCTV System

The Delta Access Control system coupled with a modern digital video recorder (DVR) offers the same basic security and liability benefits, however, it addresses the limitations of a traditional system and adds some new features.

With Delta systems the video data is stored digitally and optimized for best quality at critical times as well as prolonged data retention.  Based on activity in the recorded video, the quality is changed to reflect the significance of the information captured.

An additional advantage to activity detection is that each video feed can be broken up into zones to trigger relay outputs that signal the Delta control system to react to the occupancy or pop a live video feed up on the operator workstations.  By counting the number of times a specific zone is triggered in a time period, the occupancy load can be determined.
